Description
This fine crochet bracelet is made by a collective of women in central Turkey. Traditionally this chrochet, or ‘oya’, is worked into tiny floral edges to decorate scarves, often of multiple colours. Every region has its own style of lace: small and delicate, large and brightly coloured, with or without beads. In different regions of Turkey there are initiatives where they make beautiful jewellery with the local variant of ‘oya’. This keeps the regions distinctive, beautiful traditional handicrafts alive and gives the artisan makers an income. The bracelets are made of nylon yarn with glass beads, so they can just get wet or being washed (in a washing bag). With a cotton cloth in between, the bracelets can also be ironed.

Size: The size of each bracelet is about 19 cm. It wil fit around each medium size woman’s wrist.
